Introduction

Picture of Dorian Gray: Dorian Gray was an aristocratic juvenile living in London. He was good-natured and looks extremely handsome. One day he saw the portrait of himself painted by artist Basil Hallward .While sitting for the painting, Dorian listens to Lord Henry espousing his hedonistic world view, and begins to think that beauty is the only aspect of life worth pursuing. This prompts Dorian to wish that the painted image of himself would age in his stead. At the beginning, he did not pay much attention to it. But after playing with the actress Sibyl Vane who committed suicide for him, He discovers the man in the portrait bears a subtle sneer of cruelty. But Dorian Gray feared no restraint, but became more indulged in their desires. Beauty of Dorian Gray remained the same, but the portrait became ugly. Eighteen years later, for the hatred towards the portrait and its painter and disgust for his ugly soul, Dorian Gray murdered painter Hallward. After that, the younger brother of the actress who comes looking for revenge, was deceived by Dorian Gray and eventually was killed. It was his death that awakened the conscience of Dorian, who lift up sword stabbing into the portrait. As a result, he died mysteriously but the portrait became young as ever.
